Favourite Comic Creators
Who are your favourite classic comic creators!
I got such a long list....it may depend on subject, era, type of artwork, writing style, etc...
During the 80s one of my favourite comic artist was John Byrne. He is still going on with his Next Men comics but I find that he seems to have lost that magic touch compared to some recent modern artists. Still consider him one of the greatest....an art master with the likes of classic artists - Kubert, Kirby, Romita, Buscema, etc....
Another example of an artist/writer that has seen better days is Frank Miller. Hopefully we might see some new Sin City comics since the sequel film has been announced. It might be a return to one of his best works.

I don't know what your definition of classic is but by all accounts Robert Kirkman should definatley be considered as a classic writer. For me he's the eqivalent of a modern day Shakespeare.

I would consider an artists and a writer, as a classic comic creator, should he/she have been around for at least more than 30 years in the comic scene. I think creators that had a successful comic somewhere between the 1980s and before.
I am sure Robert Kirkman will fit as a classic writer within a few years with such skillful writing on various comics such as - THE WALKING DEAD, INVINCIBLE, THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, etc...

He sure is. And what about the Astounding Wolfman and Battle Pope?
Then my list also includes writers such as Mike Carey, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Mark Millar, Andy Diggle, Alan Moore etc. Yeah too many to mention.
As for artist the list is so long that I would need an afternoon to finish it.

I consider your list of writers as great, amazing and talented but still not classic! They will be!
